Cultural Activities

Christians in Action

“Believing requires action.”

Cultural activities are a great way for pupils to extend themselves beyond the classroom to explore their strengths and confront their weaknesses. These extra curricular activities include:

Debating 2012
The junior debating team are:Enathi Petse, Thobeka Nkandi, Zingisa Bungane, Chantal Rall, Thando Myeni, & Abigail Holder.

Meetings are held on Fridays after school in the Matric Garden. (At the GYM when it rains.)

The 2011 RCL group raised funds by washing teachers’ cars. This money was used to fund the Mr and Ms Linpark event which in turn raised more than R3000. This money was then used to subsidize the RCL camp which was held at L’Abri in September.
Mr Stuart-Christie, Mr Moorhead and Ms Hedder took the group for the overnight camp, which turned out to be an amazing 24 hours of non stop team building and fun - such fun that the group begged to stay another night!

Interact Club
This year Interact Club visited Hallelujah Crèche and were also involved with getting this crèche started last year.

They assisted at this year’s Rotary Cars in the Park in May.

They planted trees for Arbour day.

They also assisted with the Rotary Health days in Cinderella Park during July holidays.

It’s the day when scouts meet to have FUN and LEARN various scouting to lifestyle skills to help scouts advance to the next level. See News Page for LSL & Scouts Newsletter.

The Youth Support Group

This was formed in 2010 under the guidance of Mrs Magagula.  The group is committed to enrich members and

other students.

The members

give care and

support to

like Hospice and

Sunnyside Home.

YSG also invites speakers to School to motivate and enlighten students with life skills and career awareness.  The group commits itself spiritually in order to promote learners’ relationships with God.

A recent project by the YSG was the collection of unused clothing.  This clothing was donated to Insika High School’s disadvantaged students. The Linpark YSG was welcomed in a friendly and positive manner, and we hope to be of assistance to them again soon!

“He who sings scares away his woes.”

“Words make you think. Music makes you feel. A song makes you feel a thought.”

“If everyone started off the day singing, just think how happy they'd be.”
